Panchayat in Orlim takes a holiday on 2nd October, Instead of holding the traditional extra ordinary Gram Sabha in honour of the Father of the Nation.
Villagers in Orlim and members of the Orlim Gaum Rakhon Manch were in for a surprise to see the Panchayat office closed with no sign of the Sarpanch ,Dy Sarpanch , any of the three panches the Clerk or the Secretary till 10 am the villagers then decided to pay homage to the Father of the Nation anyway .
They quickly got a picture of Gandhiji and put it on the notice board decorated it with flowers sang the National Anthem distributed cake before dispersing .
We hope the concerned authorities and the Director of Panchayat's will take strong action against all the above erring officials .
