MARGAO: Villagers of Ambelim and Orlim, at the gram sabhas of their respective village panchayats held on Sunday, raised objections to various discrepancies noticed by them in the notified regional plan (RP) 2021.
No resolutions were taken, however, as it was decided to have special gram sabhas to discuss the issue threadbare.
At Ambelim, most of the locals pointed out to the anomalies in the notified RP, however, as the meeting was an ordinary gram sabha, sarpanch Cruz Silva suggested that a special meeting be convened next Sunday over the matter.
At Orlim, locals objected to the absence of the panchayat secretary at the gram sabha and called into question the validity of the meet. Villagers raised objections to the notified RP with regards to width of village roads and change in land use of zones. It was decided that another meeting should be convened to discuss the issue shortly. tnn
